Holiday Cottage in Hay on Wye
A difficult
sloping site was made useable by the introduction of a retaining wall to
level the ground giving an area for a
patio, paths and herbaceous borders
edged with box hedging. The dry stone wall was build of local stone using
an
informal 'rubble' coursing construction.
Swan Lane First School -
Evesham
The first photo below shows a before shot of the school field at Swan Lane
First School in Evesham before work was started on a new play area for the
children - a story telling circle with a giant chair, a wooden castle,
outdoor theatre, steel wigwams and an out door class room.
Pollard Horticulture
has just finished work at a large house outside Evesham on a programme of
improvements in the garden.

A new dry-stone
wall has replaced the old retaining wall and an avenue of Betula utilis var.
jacquemontii (Himalayan White Birch) has been planted down
either side of the drive.

A wasted and overgrown area of the
garden has been renovated with a small retaining wall which now
contains a acid bed for Rhododendrons and Camellias
and other acid loving plants.

The end of the main lawn lacked a
focal point and had been overtaken by a Juniper hedge.

The old hedge was removed and new
planting added either side of a new flight of steps which now
lead up onto the top gravel path around the garden.
A selection of specimen Trees were
planted in the Orchard to form a small Arboretum.
